San Francisco Fashion Week - Model Casting Challenge
I’ve been working with San Francisco Fashion Week for about the last year and I’ve enjoyed every show, every designer, every model, every casting. Other than runway and capturing the backstage chaos, I find myself experiencing the biggest rush while shooting lifestyle during the casting calls.
The challenge: capturing tens of models, opening up their personalities, some being shy brand new faces, others I’ve worked with in the past - getting about 5 minutes with each one. I think I had an hour to get everyone taken care of.
I was especially excited for this one because I noticed a library at this specific location (shout out Ecosystem SF). It was small in square footage, but it had high ceilings. And the best part was that it was filled with books and magazines on the arts and various cultures. I also caught some games and fun knick-knacks along the shelves that I knew had to be used at some point.
The models were kind enough to go along with some of my strange ideas and we all had a great time. They each chose a spot that drew their attention and away we went. Kinda funny, I came in exhausted from my day’s activities and I ended up walking out with so much energy that I didn’t know what to do with myself.
Here are some of my faves from the night!
