Featured Shoot: Trouble on the Altamont

There are some models who, when I first see them, I know we just have to work together. And with Michael, it was no different.

The initial concept I had in mind for him actually started out pretty differently. It was early Summer, or on the cusp of Summer, and within a few weeks - the location where I wanted to shoot had gone from bright green fields full of flowers to, well, hills of burnt up grass. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I found this out the day before, when I went out to scout the location. Ok, new plan.

I had just watched James Dean’s Rebel Without a Cause and had the image of his iconic style burned in my mind. Driving through the hills I then came across an old horse riding arena. Paired up against the windmills along the hilltops, I was compelled to make the connection between the two ideas.

Just as I was sure he would, Michael understood the concept and totally knocked it out of the park. With the general idea in mind, we improvised about and put these together. Definitely one of my favorite shoots to date!
